Hey kiddo,
So, here's the deal: I am you, just older and with a few more laugh lines. Yes, we still love those corny pickup lines and the smell of rain-soaked earth. Our playlist? Still filled with OPM rock bands, only now we can actually afford concert tickets!
We've come a long way from eating sinangag for breakfast. Oh, and spoiler alert, we can make a mean spaghetti now. No, not just boiling water and adding sauce. The real deal. Trust me, you'd be proud.
About school... remember those maths problems we thought we'd never use in real life? Well, they were right. Unless you count calculating discounts on shopping sprees or figuring out the waiter's tip, Pythagoras hasn't been much help.
We've had heartbreaks. Those guys in high school who didn't know we existed? They are all married now. But the heartbreaks, they taught us, shaped us. We learned to love ourselves first and that has made all the difference.
I'm still chasing those dreams you scribbled in our DIY diary. You know, the one we made using our old notebooks? We're not there yet, girl, but we're closer than we were yesterday. It's a tough climb, but hey, we've always loved a good challenge, haven't we?

Here's the thing though, it might take a while before we get there, but I want you to know that every step forward is for you, for that wide-eyed kid with a pocket full of dreams. And if, for some reason, it's a bit too late when we make it, I hope you won't be mad.
You've always been a fighter, an unbeatable champion in the video game of life.
I hope I'm living up to your expectations, the ones you painted in bold strokes of vibrant colors. If you could see me now, standing on the cusp of our dreams, working, striving, I hope it makes you smile.
With a wink from the future,
Older You.
Older You.
