Well, well, well. It seems the Universe and I finally stopped playing hide-and-seek, and I came out victorious, just like the karaoke champion at the local barangay fiesta!
I won't lie, it was a bit of a battle, though. It was like navigating through EDSA during rush hour - sweaty, full of honking, and with an occasional "Are we there yet?" muttered under my breath. But here I am, smack-dab in the middle of my dreams, feeling like I've won a lifetime supply of Chocnut!
Oh yes, I'm on cloud nine, running high on life, full of an overconfidence that's starting to resemble Pacquiao before a boxing match. I'm wearing this 'can-do' attitude like it's the latest fashion trend, strutting down my path of dreams like a supermodel on the runway. After all, I've got this, right? I'm the one-woman army that's going to bulldoze through any challenge, just like Kris Aquino ploughing through a controversy, only much more stylishly.
However, in the privacy of my thoughts, when the bravado has settled down, there’s a tiny little hiccup. Beneath the swag and the bravado, I find a voice that's less "Miss Universe confident" and more "Lost kid in a department store" squeaky. I've got what I've always wanted and now, it feels a bit like holding a new smartphone without a manual. I'm all swag on the outside, but on the inside, I’m a kid wearing my mom's high heels - excited, thrilled, but also tripping over a lot!
You see, I used to play the part of the eternal underdog. I was like that last pandesal in the bakery that everyone overlooks till the fresh batch arrives. Now that I'm no longer the overlooked pandesal but the fresh batch everyone's fighting over, it’s a bit overwhelming.
But, hang on! Who said I needed a manual, right? Wasn't it the famous Internet Philosopher, also known as Anonymous, who said, "I didn’t come this far to only come this far?" I'm the girl who turned her dreams into plans, her plans into reality, and her reality into a telenovela-worthy story of triumph!
I take a deep breath, square my shoulders, and look at the mirror. Behind those slightly panicked eyes, I see a glint of something else - courage. I've got more plot twists in me than a season finale of a teleserye, and it's time to reveal them.
So, thank you, Universe. Thank you for the gifts, the challenges, and the plot twists. I may not have an instruction manual, but I do have something better - faith, courage, and a killer sense of humor.
Life may be as unpredictable as a Lotto draw, but I'm holding onto my lucky number. Here's to not just wishing on stars, but pulling them down. Here's to shaking off the dust, standing tall, and strutting my stuff. I might stumble, but hey, at least it'll make for a good meme, right?
Bring it on, Universe! Your leading lady is ready for her close-up. Watch me as I take on this blockbuster called Life, one sassy step at a time.
